Meet Alison

Let the Journey Begin

We are all on a similar journey, but our experiences are all different. Perhaps you are currently experiencing a change in lifestyle (i.e.: empty nest, divorce, caring for parents, career) or you have been diagnosed with a chronic disease or you lack passion and purpose in your life? Whatever the reason or concern, I am grateful that you are here and motivated to make positive, sustainable changes in your life. It is my hope that my teachings will inspire you to be kind to yourself and others as we all walk our path toward wellness.

Alison Ozgur MAT, MHS, RDN

An Arizona native, Alison calls the Sonoran Desert home. She has been a registered dietitian nutritionist since 2001 and holds advanced training and expertise in whole food, plant-based nutrition. In 2010 she had her ‘nutritional awakening.’ She shares,
“My undergraduate dietetic courses at Western Michigan University consisted of a core curriculum that dietitians must complete to meet registration requirements. Though I learned a lot about nutrition and food science, I learned minimal, if anything, about the unlimited benefits of eating an animal-free diet. It was only after reading The China Study that I became curious and interested in confirming the benefits of a plant-based diet. Once I made the switch, my body gained muscle, my immune system grew stronger, my energy levels increased, and I earned that healthy radiant glow that only comes from whole food, plant-based nutrition.”

In 2012 Alison had the amazing opportunity to join the online instructor team at the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. To date, she has taught thousands of students about the unlimited health benefits of whole food, plant-based nutrition.

Alison is a forever teacher and is grateful to share her wellness expertise at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa, where she offers nutrition workshops and lectures and provides private nutrition counseling. She incorporates lifestyle medicine practices into her teachings to help her clients and students achieve optimal wellness and balance.

Throughout her two-decade career as a registered dietitian, Alison has expanded her love of health and wellness as an author, college instructor, middle and high school health teacher, certified meditation and mindfulness teacher, and registered yoga teacher. She holds a Master of Health Science degree from Saint Francis University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Concordia University.

Alison is currently working on her second nutrition book. Please see the Events & Speaking page for workshops, seminars, and retreats.
